Bike it - Sustrans
We know that lots of young people want to cycle to school, yet very few do.
Sustrans has stepped in to sort this out with Bike It, a specific project aimed at increasing the number of people cycling to its target schools.
Bike it has four elements:
• visiting schools to get young people interested in cycling to school
• helping by perhaps providing bike storage and finding a safe route,
• getting pupils started
• encouraging them to keep on cycling to and from school
In Blackpool Bike it is currently working with Highfield Humanities College
